Went to visit my Mom for a few hours today and she looks so much better. They really didn't do anything today with her except monitor everything. I guess not much gets done in the hospital world on Sundays.
BUT one bad thing happened there. Someone stole her diamond earrings!
When they took her from the ER at 1:00am to her regular room the tech who was working said she had to take her jewelry off. She then reached over and actually took her earrings off her ears. Then she asked her if they were valuable? My Mom said, yes they are, they are diamonds. So the girl then said, well I'll put them in your shoe with your watch.
So today when I arrived to visit, first thing my Mom said was, Get my watch and earrings out of my shoe and take them home. Well the only thing in the shoe was her Timex watch. We searched through everything and they weren't there. So I called the nurse to come in, told her the story. She then had the charge nurse come in to hear the story again. So then security came in and made a report. So we are giving them until tomorrow to find the earrings or we are calling TPD and making a report with them.
It's a shame there has to be so many dishonest people in this world preying on the elderly. My Mom said this girl was very sweet and kind.
We asked the nurses if they ever remove jewelry like that and they said no. Only if they are taking a patient for an MRI or something like that. And if jewelry or wallets have to be removed from the patient, they call security to do it, they log it in and put it in the safe.

Gosh I can't believe her earrings are missing! I sure hope they miraculously show up tomorrow. Glad your Mom is feeling better. Hope she comes home soon!
