I was waiting for weeks to see Josh Gracin again. Concert day finally came, Jess, Shelley and I packed some cuban sandwiches, beer & pepsi and off we went. Shelley kept mumbling something about this other other guy, Josh Owen that was performing at the show too. We made a fast stop at "ACE" hardware for some sharpies (someone couldn't believe that I don't bring my own sharpies) and a quick stop for more beer. Someone had a sore throat in the backseat and was needing more beer.
The weather was perfect, drove right up and got a parking space right at the entrance. I got in line at the gate because all of the tickets were 2 prices of general admission and I wanted to make sure we got good seats. Jessica and Shelley went to play at the Chasco Fiesta.
Finally the show is starting but there is another band that is playing, not one that is advertised. Seems like that has been happening to us a lot. They were ok but we were more interested in keeping our eyes peeled looking for Jake and Josh to appear. Oh and Jess was entertaining us. She stole some guys gay looking Chasco staff hat that was guarding the gate, then went up to him and stood there talking to him with the hat on. The guy never noticed! After about 1o minutes she took the hat and gave it back. He was mad at first but after walking past him about 5 times he was then laughing.
All of a sudden we hear someone say, there is Jake! Whew.. there goes Shelley running with a sharpie! We all made it over for a picture and autograph. He was so sweet, took time with everyone and he has a great big smile :)
Yeah the first band is over but it's starting to cloud up. Jake goes up on stage and he looks even better with the guitar and his voice is so nice, and did I say he has a beautiful big smile :)
The DJ said he had a bet with Jake that if UF beat FSU Jake had to sing the Gator Fight song. Well since UF is the better team, of course they won. Make sure you click on the video link to hear it!
Two more awesome songs and it started to downpour. The band stopped, said they would be back when it slowed down. Everyone ran for cover. Shelley and I were under a tarp they put up for the big speaker racks. Then after about 15 minutes of high winds some security guy yelled for us to get out of there because the speakers were going to blow over. YIKES! We all ran in different directions!
It was like a swamp of mud, I kept thinking about Woodstock and thought we should be chanting "NO MORE RAIN". Of course we brought ponchos with us, but since it was a perfect day when we arrived they were left in the car.
After being soaked to the bone the security on stage said another bad storm was coming with high winds and hail and the show was canceled and for everyone to leave now. So we left.
But today I found that Josh Gracin came out about 30 minutes after we left and did an accoustic set when the rain let up. :(
That was great for him to do that for the fans that stayed. Wish we would have been there. But we had fun driving home, there was talk about stopping at a fire station for Shelley to meet some firefighters Jess knows, finding a hand dryer in a bathroom to dry our clothes, Dallas Bull, calls to the radio station, etc. But we made it home, wet and cold.
Hope you enjoy the pics! Next weekend will be another outside concert, we better have sunshine!!

Here is the video :)
