Where have I been?

I'm not sure where the time goes! I keep getting emails asking if I'm alright because I haven't updated my blog! I'm doing great...so no worries everyone! I'm excited people are reading my blog and wondering where I'm at!! Thanks guys!!
So much has happened in the last 2 weeks! :) Of course you all know that has to involve Mr Ace Young! But those stories will have to wait because I know you are dying to know what I did in PA on vacation! LOL

I'll start my recap back in PA. Got there on Wed, July 16th (Jeremy's Birthday). It was so nice to see my Mom again and Stan. I was so tired from the lack of sleep at the Mohegan album release party and traveling all day that I just rested that night. Thursday was pretty uneventful, took Mom on some errands that she needed to do and we bought Gnocchi's! MMM love Gnocchi's!

Friday I hit the road to visit my friends in the town where I grew up... Greensburg! First stop was to my best friends house, Cindy & I have been friends since 7th grade! Here is a picture of her.She lives way out on many acres of ground. It's so cool to sit on her porch and watch all of the wildlife. Wild turkeys walking around, deer passing through and the most beautiful birds can all be seen everyday there.

Greensburg has free concerts in the park every Friday night in the summer so that is where we started our evening out. I loved being out in the open PA air, and guess what? NO humidity! I loved it! There was a reggae band playing and they were really good! It's fun going back home because I always run into people from my past life there. I was sitting next to a guy I went to high school with and also John's step sister was there. She was sitting behind us a few rows. Said she kept thinking that lady looks like Joni. Then she saw Cindy...and knew it was me. So she came running over to say hi. It was pretty cool! We also met my friend Dave Opsitnick there. When the show was almost over the PA people needed to get out of the heat (ha ha) so we went to a bar for the rest of the evening. My nephews came over to met us too. Lots of fun!! They are finding out way too much about how their Aunt really is LOL.

Saturday was my nephew Jason's high school graduation party. I was a little leary about going since I wouldn't know many people since my brother died 3 years ago. My SIL has a boyfriend and all new friends. But I went and ended up being the last person to leave at 10pm! A few of my brothers truck driving friends came and they were telling me so many funny stories about him. It was wonderful to hear about him through their experiences. My brother died when he was 52 BUT he never acted more than 16 most of his life. He was a practical joker and lived his life like that. So the stories were SO funny! Then my older nephew Justin had some friends over and they started to tell stories about his funny things... the apple didn't fall far from that tree!!

Here is a pic of Jason, my Mom and Justin at the graduation party.
Sunday & Monday I just spent with my Mom. We went to visit a few old neighbors and just went shopping. Monday was Jason's 18th birthday so we drove back to Greensburg and took him to dinner in the evening. Since my Mom's birthday was the on the 13th I told the waitress it was both of their birthdays. Of course they sing at the Texas Roadhouse... and put cowboy hats on them. LOL

The best part was after they were finished singing a couple of girls walked past and said "Happy Birthday Jason". It's so fun to embarrass an 18yr old like that... they were his friends from school. LOL

Justin and I outside of Texas Roadhouse. I had to beg for these pictures to be taken!!

Jason ( aka Woody from Toy Story) ;) and I

Tuesday I drove back down to Greensburg to visit more friends that couldn't make it out on Friday night. I went shopping most of the afternoon, on a mission to find MORE Steeler stuff! In the evening I picked Cindy up and we went to the local sports bar for dinner, and yes I had Gnocchi's again!
I have a great group of guy friends in PA. I've known them for 30 years and they are all awesome! Here is a group pic of 3 of them. Dave Opsitnick, Dave Obradovich and Steve Donofrio.

Wednesday was another running to every store I could looking for more Steeler stuff. I even went to Latrobe, the city that Steeler training camp is in thinking they would be fully stocked up...but NO they had less than the other stores did. I also visited with John's Aunt June for a little and then headed back to my Mom's.

This trip I rented a car for the whole 8 days and it was so wonderful to be able to come and go when I wanted to. My Mom stays with her boyfriend Stan during the summers and he lives an hour away from everything. So the nights I went out etc, I just slept at Cindy's.

That pretty much sums up my 8 days in PA. Just left out all of the trips to sit at McDonalds to check my email. I got real friendly with them over the 8 days! LOL I couldn't believe non of my Mom's neighbors had Internet I could steal! Ohhh and the corn on the cob! YUM! Nothing better than PA sweet corn in July!

Ok next post... Thursday flying to Atlanta to meet up with John and to attend the Ace Young Trifecta of concerts!! woo hoo!
