How do you choose what color to paint the outside of the house? We've been in our home 7 years now and it still has the original flat builders grade paint out there. We need painted really bad, but how do you pick a color? John and I went to Home Depot and picked out a couple of shades we thought we would like. Our painter said to buy a couple of different colors in quarts and paint on the back of the house to see what it looks like. John did that last night and I still can't decide. I think we need to go darker however wonder if it's too much once the whole house is painted?
What do you think about these colors?

I can't help you with those colors Joni. They look so similar to me. I like different type colors. The guy down the street from us painted his a while back and I LOVE it. I will try to take a pic for you. Not sure what it's called. Good luck with the painting. We are not painting the outside. The landlord can do that. That is TOO much money for our pockets.
I like them both. What color is your roof? Would it help to try and match the color to the shingles/tiles? One looks more grey and the other looks a little more beige/brown. What accent colors? White? I think you said white. ...and a BRIGHT BLUE door, right? LMAO just kidding. I saw that door around the corner. WTH were they thinking?
I like the top one :) The other ones looks kinda dull...
I'd go with a green for a real noticable change :) Or the top one :o)
Will you give me an idea on what you're paying the painter... my husband is a painter and I keep trying to convince him to start doing exteriors :)
