Things I learned this weekend, car batteries can blow up!

On Saturday morning I was in my scraproom showing John something on my computer. All a sudden there was a LOUD bang outside. We both looked at each other and said WTH? It sounded like something metal had crashed against the house. We were peeking out the windows but couldn't see anything laying in the yard, everything looked fine. So John went out and opened our standby generator (it sits outside the window of my scraproom) and found the battery had exploded inside. The generator uses a car motor to run so the battery is a car size one. I never heard of a battery exploding before. The generator is only 20 months old. I'm so glad he was home! Here are a couple of pics I took of it.

But later on in the day... look what I saw sitting on the fence outside of my window! This is a Red-tailed Hawk
